Once again, a Republican family values politician has been caught doing something very un-family friendly. I could care less if a Gov or Senator or whoever is cheating on their spouse - it happens all the time and is part of mainstream modern America - it is not a sign of incapacity to serve in their respective office. Where the problem begins and ends for me is the hypocrisy that most of the GOP offenders bring to the table. They campaign on family values. They decry people who commit the "sins" that they go ahead and commit themselves. Sanford, when he was a Congressman, voted to impeach Clinton and publicly came out against the GOP Rep. who was slated to be the Speaker after Newt because of a sex scandal. Senator Ensign (NV), former Senator Larry Craig (ID)(wide stance), former Rep. Mark Foley (teenage boys) - all these guys were staunch family values, conservative republicans. If the GOP would just spare us all their family values crap, they wouldn't look like such idiots so often.
Sanford should resign because he has no credibility - he advocates for one thing and privately goes against his own admonishments.
I doubt he'll leave, we'll see.
